Meet Our Red Sex Links

Red Sex Links are one of the best backyard breeds you can get. They're prolific layers, easy-going, and great foragers. Our hens have full pasture access and spend their days outside, scratching in the grass, and doing what chickens do best.

These birds produce 5-6 large brown eggs per week at peak production. They're cold-hardy, heat-tolerant, and friendly enough for families with kids.

Meet Our Easter Eggers

Also known as Blue Egg Layers

Easter Egger hen nesting at Gray Family Farm

Easter Eggers are one of the most beloved and distinctive breeds in the backyard chicken world — named for the colorful eggs they lay, not the holiday (though the timing is fitting). They're a hybrid breed with Araucana and Ameraucana roots, which is where their blue egg gene comes from.

What makes them special is that every hen lays a slightly different shade — dark blue, sky blue, sage green, or tan. Each bird stays true to her own color her whole life, so the variety in your egg basket comes from the flock, not a single hen. It's one of the most talked-about things among backyard chicken keepers.

In terms of personality, Easter Eggers are independent and curious birds. They're not typically as people-oriented as Red Sex Links — they're more likely to be found exploring the pasture than following you around — but they're calm, non-aggressive, and easy to keep. They do extremely well in free-range and mixed-flock settings.

Our Easter Egger hens for sale are healthy, in active lay, and priced at $50 each to reflect their uniqueness — colorful eggs are harder to come by, and these birds consistently get the most reactions from visitors to the farm.

Beaks Intact

Our hens are never beak-trimmed. It's a small thing that says a lot about how these birds are raised and how they live day to day.

"There's nothing like walking out to your coop in the morning and collecting eggs from happy, healthy hens. That's what we want for every family that takes our birds home."
