Headed crabbing?

Shelley's Crab Bait

Freeze-Dried Chicken Necks

Chicken necks are the classic bait for blue crabs. Ours are raised on pasture at our family farm and freeze-dried, so they keep on the shelf until the day you need them — no freezer, no cooler, no thawing.

No refrigeration. No cooler. No leaking bag of bait in your trunk.

Shelley's Crab Bait label — freeze-dried chicken necks, ethically and pasture raised, from Gray Family Farm in New Windsor, NY

Easy-to-Use Crab Bait

Chicken necks are the classic crab bait. Freeze-drying them is the new part.

🦀

The Standard Crab Bait

Chicken necks have been a go-to for blue crabs for generations. We didn't change the bait — we changed how you carry it.

🌡️

No Refrigeration

Freeze-dried means shelf-stable. Keep it in the tackle box or the garage until the day you go — no freezer space, no thawing, no planning ahead.

🧳

Packs Anywhere

Toss a container in your camping gear, tackle box, or suitcase. Headed to the Jersey Shore, Maryland, or Delaware? It travels with you.

🪶

Light and Clean

No mess, no leaks, no cooler to haul. A 4 oz container weighs almost nothing and won't stink up the car on the ride home.

🚜

Farm Raised

Made from necks off chickens we raised ourselves on pasture in New Windsor, NY. Ethically raised, and we know exactly where they came from.

♻️

Nothing Wasted

These necks would otherwise go to waste. Putting them to work in your crab pot is one more way we use everything the farm produces.

How to Use It

Three steps and you're fishing.

1

Soak

Soak the bait in water for 15 minutes before use.

2

Tie It On

Tie a neck to your line or drop it in your trap or crab pot.

3

Start Crabbing

Drop it in the water and wait them out. That's the whole trick.

From Our Farm to Your Crab Pot

Making the Most of Everything

We raise our chickens on pasture here in New Windsor. When they're processed, the necks don't have much of a market — and for a long time that meant a good piece of a good bird going to waste.

Chicken necks have always been good crab bait. The problem was carrying them around. So we freeze-dry ours, Shelley puts her name on the container, and nothing gets thrown out. It's a practical, honest product, and one more way we use everything the farm gives us.
